Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? Isaiah 43: 18-19
I love this image! There are a lot of letters scattered about yet to be used to make words, much like the days scattered throughout the new year are waiting to be used to make up a life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
A new year is a gift of God. It is a chance to approach life with a new spirit, to shake off the old and embrace the challenges and opportunities we have yet to face.
A new year is an occasion to reset our lives. We can follow new dreams. Maybe we can pull out some old dreams and try to make them come true in a new place with new helpers.
This is true for each of us as individuals. It is true of all our relationships, including family, friends, colleagues, and fellow travelers in life. It is true for us as the Church.
So, happy new year. May 2024 be wonder-filled for you and yours as you embrace this wonderful gift of God!
