The Colchester Sun Headline reads:: ""Garden of Eatin" at United Church of Colchester Supplies Vegetables to Food Shelf."
Jessica Randell, our Gardner-in-Chief, recently took Bridget Higdon, Community Editor, on a tour of the garden. Jessica, who describes the garden as "my heart and soul" explained the origin of the idea. She described how she and others in the church -- like Rick Whittlesey, Wendy Hinsdale, William Randell, Gary Ferris, and in earlier growing seasons the children's Sunday School, and others behind the scenes like the Stewards -- have made this dream come true for those in our community who need food assistance.
The Garden of Eatin' joins our routine Brown Bag Collections of food and household supplies for the Colchester Food Shelf. In fact, we are in the midst of a collection now, with bags due in Church by September 18.
Stay safe, stay well, God bless!
Well done Jessica and her crew!
