April 25, 2024
We have all played some form of Hide & Seek as children. The best games were sometimes in the shadows of early evening - the hidden were sometimes almost impossible to see, even in "plain sight." One of the many grownup lessons we learn as children.

Seeking And Finding
by Joyce Rupp
I search for God, elusive, hidden God,
I long to dwell in the heart of mystery.
I search for my true self more of who I am,
Knowing there’s so much yet to be discovered.
I search for love, the unconditional love
That enfolds me and asks to be shared.
I search for vision in the shadows of my soul,
Impatiently awaiting the moment of lighting.
I search for a quiet heart
amid life’s harried schedule
My soul cries out yearning for solitude.
I search for compassion in a world gone deaf
To the cries of the hurting
and the pleas of the powerless.
I search for Home
Always for Home,
Unaware, of course,
That I am already there.
Jeremiah 29: 13
When you search for me, you will find me;
When you search wholeheartedly for me,
I shall let you find me.
Looking Ahead
Lord You are our Lamp and Shield
Your way is perfect,
and Your word is true;
You are our Light and Refuge.
Some of our prayers on the National Day of Prayer
will focus on Family
Heavenly Father, Creator of man and woman,
parents and children,
and Lord of our earthly and external family,
we acknowledge that we are Your children,
created for relationship with You, and one another.
We lift up the Word and light up the lives of Families.
Proverbs 6: 20-23
My son, keep your father's commands
and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
Bind them upon your heart forever;
fasten the around your neck.
When you walk, they will guide you;
when you sleep, they will watch over you;
when you awake, they will speak to you.
For these commands are a lamp,
this teaching is a light.
May God continue to bless our prayer journey together.
